How to Make your Drifter S Turn
Like On Rails
The first time I took out the Drifter S, I
realized this is a great running hull but it didn't like to turn. It
constantly spun out in turns or slid. With the advise of other
Drifter S owners this is what we came up with.

Before Picture
The only supplies/parts needed are a
1"x1/8"x12" piece of Balsa & CA glue. The 1"wide piece is just the
right fit, the only cutting will be the desired length. I made mine
5" 11/16 long. I left a 1/8th overhang on the back of the transom to
help shed the water off the back of the hull. After cutting to
length. Make sure all the wood edges are nice and sharp. A long
block of wood with sand paper attached will help give a shaper edge
without rounding them over. Then paint & Clear the wood pieces to
stop the balsa from absorbing water. Next attach the rid pads, I put
two small drops of CA to attach to the hull temporarily. I went out
did some testing and found that this made a world of difference.
After you test to make sure this is what you want. Allow a day for
any water to dry off between the hull and ride pad. Then apply a
thin ca in between the hull and pad to help bond better.

After Ride Pad Installed
This is basically removing the last
step. I find it doesn't run as loose as before. But the higher speed
in the turns more then makes up for it.
