This Rc boat was a ton of fun. This was my
first attempt at Rc electric in the ocean. This is a stock Wave
Shark with extra care taken to stop the water from coming into the
hull. The entire top was tapped down. Extra sponges added to help
stop sloshing water, if it does get inside. Receiver was dipped in
Aeroplate, then placed in a plastic bag, and servos dipped in
Aeroplate the edges sealed with silicon. See the
"articles section" for more info on water proofing
everything. The wave rider driver was also sealed up so he didn't
take on any water. During the two runs it flipped over no fewer the
5 times, but comes right back up every time! In a scale of one to
ten on the "fun scale" this hull is definitely a ten!
New for the Summer of 2004!
We ran a new 700bb turbo and water proof esc
to make this hull scream! We hit a real GPS measured 28.5 mph with
14 cells. And this hull is capable of 30-32 with 16 cells! This is
real measured speeds. Not exaggerated! This year we also used dp-270
to water proof the receiver and rubber dip for the servo. Not one
radio problem arose from the precautions. We also used Velcro tie
downs for everything. We pushed this boat for two weeks and the only
damage was a loose drive shaft! It was quickly fixed with some
silicon.
