This was the Full Ready
to Run (RTR) version, just add receiver batteries,
stickers and off to the local pond! The tested boat had
a 775 electric, 12cell motor. I ran this boat on 12-
3300 NiMh Batteries. I was in a rush and didn't install
the driver or the stickers. It will run for over 6
minutes with these batteries.
Out of the three
different Cen Racing hulls, this one surprised me the
most. It is very well balanced. With speeds ranging from
15-18mph. Not to much to go wrong with this hull. Its
has a straight solid shaft with direct coupler to motor,
no universal joints. To our surprise, after jumping all
the waves and spinouts, there was barely a few drops of
water inside! To help stop the water we used lots of
hatch tape.
My 4 year old, son
Steven is doing the driving. As you will hear he gets a
bit excited when it comes to Rc.
Update 10/31/02 : After
some more wave testing, I have learned that the Electric
Version of the Wave Shark is Self Righting! It will flip
itself back over if it happens to roll over after
jumping a wave. See
"articles section" on water proofing the boat before
attempting this. There are very few Rc boats available
that can do this. Look for a video of this in the
future! |
