Special Deals Keep Healthcare Bill Afloat

    From FoxNews:

And just to be "fair and balanced", from CNN:

Democrats call it compromise. Republicans call it bribery. But both sides agree that special deals are why the Senate is on track to pass a health care bill by Christmas.

SERIOUSLY??? Sorry dude... I don't choose based on who's winning... I choose based on what is right... win or lose, I'm choosing the side that is on the right side of history.

      Speaking of which:

Sorry dude.... it was PARTIALLY sarcastic. Someone who chooses one side and sticks with it no matter what is seriously diluted. The way you talk, you obviously are sticking with the choice you made a long time ago. More FOX news quotes though please. I love it. They are always the first to jump down someone's throat and label them left or right, lib or conservative, and ALWAYS support the conservative, ALWAYS! No matter what the debate.

Ok. You got me. I'm for reform for all. Not individual states.

I'm for what is right... It's not a blind, party affiliated choice... YOU guys are the ones labeling me a "Republican", even though I've clearly stated many times that I am NOT...

This "Healthcare Bill" is a farce... Two things should jump right out.... 1) Trial lawyers aren't complaining at ALL about it... 2) Insurance company stocks just hit a 52-year high....

Who's benefiting from this bill again???? Someone who isn't blindly sticking to their "ideals" wouldn't bother asking this question... and might even be able to answer it unbiasedly...

Those money grubbing suck face dogs aren't going to complain or endorse it. They are just waiting in the wings like vultures to pick the last bones of society clean. As for the insurance companies? They win either way. They know they don't carry the full burden of blame on this and stand to make money either way if the senate bill as is goes through. That's the one that is more friendly to their industry. In their eyes, it's the lesser of two evils. And I'm not stating that reform is evil.

I am seriously unhappy with the health care reform bills as written in the House and Senate. Both are nothing more than business as usual and a HUGE gift to an already corrupted health insurance industry.

The Democrats have no spine and let the Republicans ride them into the dirt. Obama will sign anything now just so he can say he signed it.

Very disappointed. But even more disappointed that I live in a country where we are fine letting people die due to a lack of coverage and feel a moral superiority because "we" can afford to take care of our families. God forbid that Cigna stop making BILLIONS in profit. Who cares about a bunch of lazy no good low life people who cannot afford health insurance. Hopefully none of you ever lose you great jobs and find out that not everyone who is getting the short end of the stick is a lazy low life.

Oh, Merry Christmas. Buy Kaiser and Cigna stock!! 65 year highs!! All you need to know.

Maybe Walmart will start selling Health Insurance. It won't be great, but it'll do...

Wake up and smell the low life. We (middle/ upper middle class) are all considered low life sheep in the eyes of these tyrants. Yet we deserve it due to 90% of the herd walking mindlessly about their business. They depend on us only raising an eyebrow when Tiger, Britney or any other so called "celebrity" grabs a head line. This way they can slowly take away our freedom of choice.. One piece at a time.
In conclusion and in my opinion the problem is the complete ineptitude of the America.

After all "we" elected theses people.

Guy's the health care bill in not law yet. Its still something that needs to be be wrangled between moderate and liberal Dem's still. And the final version may go down in flames due to simple in fighting. Last I read the final approval vote is going to get ugly.

But while we are on the topic of Health Care lets not agree to disagree. We need something. As much as I have criticized universal health care all of my life it has become apperant in the last 10 or 15 years something serious has gone wrong with health care in our country. We have to stop these private monopolies who make incredible profits from bullying us, the public. They are unfair, immoral and do things very borderline to criminal.

Anyone watch Sicko? Yeah I know most of you/us cannot stand Michael Moore but his point should bind us in opinion. Somehow, someway we need to take control of our medical dilemma effecting all of us. I hope we get something done very soon to stop these thugs from equating humans to a dollar amount. Its obvious they dont care about us as consumers.

You REALLY want to fix healthcare/insurance? Allow intersatate competition and limit tort awards. California put a cap on tort awards, and saved a bundle.

I point all my fingers at the trial lawyers here. They're the first ones profiting from this abortion known as Obamacare.

Let's see: Congress (R and D) is comprised of mostly lawyers, writing laws for the benefit of their campaign contributors (trial lawyers). Does anybody see anything wrong here?

My suggestion: Throw ALL incumbent politicians (R and D) out of office every election cycle. Until we make the "I" letter next to a candidate's name on a ballot the curse of political death, nothing will change and there will be no hope.

I read something about kids in China and lead paint.....we just abort em in the USA, no chance of eating lead. Obama and the death party, just take a pain pill. Reminds me of the brown shirts.

                              Doc,

Dont take my comments about Obama Care as a supporter of him and or his principals. And my handle on a couple websites for political commentary is twopartyhater. I know where you and the others are coming from. Doubtfull we will ever get good tort reform from the federal government. Like you said. Its built upon lawyers. Heck, almost half of congress is made of millionairs! That alone speaks volumes. Maybe enough states will wise up and force the issue at a lower level like Kali did. I dont have the answer but I dont want to wait anymore.

I'm just saying we need to begin something meaningful and get it done reasonably soon. Its going to be a difficult road, one we all feel strongly about in many ways. Opinions are going to divide us. But talking is only hot air, lets get busy and either beat the crap out of each other as a nation or stand up and take on this issue. We cannot standby any longer in good conscience for what will surely be even more painful as each year passes by.
