    Clear Finish for Natural wood??

    Hey guys...

I'm working on a little rigger and want to keep it LIGHT... so I'm going to avoid any exceess paint... I'll add some stripes, but that's about it...

So, what do you guys use to seal the exterior surfaces of your wooden boats?? needs to withstand taping, of course...

If Jay Turner is out there... I know you've built MANY of these... I'd be interested to hear what an expert does to prep these hulls...

I'm sealing the inside with thinned laminating/glueing epoxy (MAS Flag)..., so I'm mostly just concerned about the exterior...

    Any advice would be appreciated...

use a spar urathan for sealing the wood or use a marine varnish like they use on real boats
