    hey guys

updated pics of my Dumas Build, just about ready for some skin to go on the maze of supports, might be doing some lightening when the plywood decking is all on, otherwise it might be a tad heavy!

That looks good. Is it a kit? and what size will it end up? Take your time and it will be a masterpiece.

              Back Again

              hey all

been MIA for a while but im back on now..and have some more picts of my Deep Vee Build. Up to finishing the hull, i have applied couple of coats of 7008 two part plastic finish (usually used on floors, i prefer this then glassing it) and then will paint. I have yet to complete hatches etc but am in process of.

Most of internal's have a position but that may all change due to COG later on.

              Comments welcome.

Nice build! The DUMAS 20 was, and still is, a nice boat.

Looks like it is pretty straight build! Lots of work gone into that!

The last ply boat i did was a hotshot flat nose tunnel.

                Regards, Brett.

I ran the fiberglass version of that boat 35 years ago with an O.S.20 nitro engine. I had set it up with a submerged drive as the plans indicated - that was pretty common back then. Today I'd use a surface drive on that hull, FE or fuel.

With a surface drive and the KB45 motor you stated, an x440 prop would be a good place to start. If you want to stay plastic then use a Graupner K40. I'm sure you can increase the size eventually, but to start to dial the boat in, that's what I'd recommend. If you go submerged drive then the smaller props would be better but I don't know what to specifically recommend.

cheers fluid...appreciate the help in prop size. I am going surface drive. I found it easier to setup in past boats..It is an older design for a boat but i was after something that could handle some rougher water, and still be fun and fast. I am happy with it, its only my 3rd scratch built boat, its all learning lol.
