    Spektrum esc timing?

I have the new sonic wake v2 and I upgraded the esc to the optional 160 specktrum esc and left the stock 4 pole 1900 Kv motor and upgraded the prop to a 1814 prop as I wanna just do oval races with friends at the lake. What timing should I put my esc at?

What wind is the motor? D or Y wind? That will be the biggest factor in how much timing advance to run.

The 3674 1900kV motor is a D wind, so timing should be set between 0 and 7.5* or auto if the ESC supports it.

          But Horizon's website says the Sonicwake V2's motor is a 4068 1900kv, not a 3674.

My bad, I saw 1900kV and was thinking about the 36mm motor from the Geico boat. Forgot the Sonic wake was a larger diameter.

I have a program card. That’s not the issue. I’m asking what I should set the timing at.

Hey do you know the specs on the 3674 1900kv in the first generation sonicwake?
Do you know what the biggest problem with the world is?

                            BigBoy,

Timing is not as big a deal as a lot of people make it out to be. The old statement "0 for delta and 15 for wye" gets repeated all the time. And that's ok as it doesn't hurt anything, doesn't help anything either tho. I have run motors of both wind types, with all different timing settings, and have yet to see a difference.

Now days I just leave the timing on whatever the ESCs default setting is. Haven't had a problem in the past 5 years that I have been doing it either.

I know that a lot of people want to do something to their motor/esc to make them "feel" good about working on them. And there's just really not anything that we can do to them except change the timing. But it actually is a waste of time and worry.
