Futaba 3PL stock reciever suddenly wont stay on

Hi, im still a beginner with RC and so I may be entirely overlooking something simple, but I figured I would post here just to have peace of mind.

The other night, I had my Hyperion Life reciever pack on full charge and everything else in my boat basically ready to hit the water, but I ended up not driving the boat. Thus, I stupidly left the boat in that status for a few hours with the transmitter turned off, but the reciever and ESC still on. The boat later throttled a tiny bit on its own so thats when I went and unplugged everything, and then I noticed the Life pack was puffed(its brand new otherwise). Now today, I went to take the boat to the lake and my reciever now wont stay on (using a 5cell 6V NiMH receiver pack). I basically flip the on switch, the reciever LED is red for a moment then stops. Did I potentially damage my reciever??

    that doesn't sound good...

Have you tried to rebind to the transmitter? Another thing to try is remove the switch out of the circuit. Directly plug a FULLY CHARGED receiver battery into the receiver and see what the LED looks like.

A call to talk directly to Futaba support may not be a bad idea.

    Good Luck,
    Mike

nvm I guess I was wrong, again the reciever only stayed powered on for a moment, in addition to the motor suddenly throttling just before the reciever shuts off//
