    Turns to kv conversion

Does anyone know how turns translates to KV?
I want to know how many KV a 17.5 turn brushless motor is.
    Thanks,
    Alvin

It depends on the length and diameter of the rotor, the pole count, the weight of copper the amount of iron in and the thickness of the laminations, the strength of the magnets, the magnet air gap, and other variables, sorry but there are FAR too many variables for a direct universal conversion from winds to KV.

What is the motor? Maybe someone has one and can tell you what KV it is.

One rule to remember, the higher the number of turns, the lower the KV and vice versa. No way of knowing exactly what your 17.5 turns equates to but it is most like a low KV.

Sounds like you might be talking about a brushless stock motor. If that
is the case they are about 2200 Kv.

What brand and model motor are you referring to? As others have stated, there are too many variables to give valid info. without specifics.

Don't see any specs on this page but here is the motor. Yes it is the stock ROAR motor.

Probably most similar to a 2200kV motor.. Lots of torque, not alot of speed. Good for light cars with low FDRs

NitroVal, I saw you posting in the Associated forum. I am looking at this motor for my SC10. This truck is awesome!

Yea, you'll love it. Its a tough truck to race with compared to a Slash, but get it hooked up right and its rips.. Im kind of pissed at our local track as we were running them with the Slash's in the Spec class and we were beating up pretty badly on the Slash's so they made another class for us SC10ers. Only thing was there wasnt enough SC10s to get the class really competitive, so it died off, and now I have one just collecting dust..

                    That 17.5 motor is 3000kv or possibly a 3300kv..

                          It all depends on manufacture..
                          a 17.5 turn could be 2,500kv to 3,000kv
It a can go as low as 2,200kv

keep in mind different makers have a slightly different kv rating for the same turn motor
