You would be better off and cheaper using a jeti 600 esc. It handles like 30 something cells and 60 amps. the EVX is only rated for 30amps I do believe. twin 19 turn 550 motors on the gear drive is the limit I KNOW. had one, sold it.

Get the jeti dude, I used to have one and loved it. they sell them here for like 70$.

I would run the aqua craft blue esc's because they have reverse. Right now they are sold out and on backorder. But i run one in my sons fishing boat with a ep1. Its been working great. i would run 1 to each motor.

Yes, traxxas ESC is not very good. Personally, I would go with the Jeti ESC myself. But like steven was saying, a pair of the AC esc's would work too....And that would not be a bad setup. There is a bit more wiring involved. Also, the Novak Super Duty XR is a ESC to look at. it handles dual motors down to 10 or 12 turns. Not sure which one off the top of my head. That esc is quite expensive. 139$ is about as low as they get.

Again, if it was me, I would get the jeti. I would'nt think with the OB motors you would be using reverse much anyway. Would'nt wanna sink the boat when you used reverse with the OB's? Seems like it would.

I had a whole rant on here about the jeti ESC working, but it won't unless you use differant motors. I checked. Reason is, the Jeti ESC needs 8 cells minimum, 30 cells max. The EP1 outboards are 6-7 cell 27-Turn motors stock out of the box. So there for you would need the EVX or some other ESC that would handle twin 27 turns....That should not be hard to find as they should'nt draw many amps at all. Also the EVX has a battery eleiminator circuit and the jeti does not. Thats something to think about too.

I don't really recomend a EVX ESC at all....but I cannot say I had any problems with mine. It was running in a stock villian EX. 12 cells, 23 turn motors. But, I personally know people with e-maxx's and the like that have had them fail. I sold mine before it ever had the chance to fail on me. So take that for what it's worth. New they sell for over 100 bucks. I listed mine on ebay and I only got 65$ for it.

EDIT: lol....just thinking some more....if you did wanna run some 23 turn titan motors or the like at 12 or 14 cells, you can with any of the ESC's too....but in that case the jeti is the way to go in my opinion.

I thought about using 16 cells with Titan motors in my Kyosho Twin Storm. The Jeti would handle it, and at 14 cells the Titans I use now are not too hot. Would they be able to run at nearly 20 volts?

It looks like the jeti is the way to go i just have a couple more Q's what is a eleminator circuit switch? And do u think A Method R 17x2 modified motor will work on the jeti esc? I have one in my X-cellerator and i love it i got it from hobby ppl for 20 bucks i run it on a 6cell 1500 mah batt and i get around the low 20's.

Thank you all for helping me in chosing a esc
