Easiest way to use Visa Gift Cards Online?

So got a $50 mail-in-rebate for a new cell phone I purchased. It comes as a Visa gift card, now nothing I want cost $50 and everything I want is online. If I went to the LHS wouldn't really be a issue I could just ask to use two payment types and all would be well. Online purchases don't allow for 2 payment types (that I know off). So what is the easiest way to use it? I want to put it towards a Stiletto here at OSE. Should I just use it to buy a $50 gift certificate for myself here at OSE, if so how does that work is the Gift certificate mailed or emailed and you print off the code?

Another option was I was going to go and buy a greendot money card put the $50 on it and type the code into my paypal account for instant funds, but I don't think the accept CC for the greendot cards and it's like $5 just for the card.

I read that before, but when I tried to do it it would not go through. Maybe I did something wrong, have you done it?

I ordered a truck body on ebay yesterday for 40-bucks with the visa gift card. Clicked add a credit card, entered the card number and 3-digit code on the back, my billing adress for the card and it added it.

I'll give it another try and see if I can transfer funds over from that card for the full amount.

Dies I think it matters where you are using it... I've tried the paypal thing with one of those... did not have any luck on certain sites but I was able to purchase an item likewise on ebay.

I got a Chase one as a bonus from work. I can use it locally without issue. Anything that requires authorization such as online purchases, you must register the gift card. Otherwise there is no billing address, no phone number, etc.

You have to register the gift card under your name first.........thats what i had to do. Then add it to paypal as another credit card..............use it as the primary payment source and use your other credit card or checking account as the backup source for the remaining balance............this worked for me.

Since it was a phone rebate it came registered with my name printed on the card and my address is ok as well. I was able to add it to my paypal as well. I think I can actually redeem at my bank and just deposit into my account which would make life easy. Right now it is setup in paypal, but Ill swing by the bank tomorrow and see if I can deposit into my account. I have to go their anyway to deposit a xmas check. Has anyone ever used the OSE gift certificates? Just curious on if they are emailed or mailed and any added information.

When I assign the gift card as primary do I have to enter the value I want to put on that card or just assign as primary with my CC as back up and it will automatically take the proper amount from the gift card?

Thanks for all the help/info guys!
