    Lipo Low Voltage Cutoff device

Hi guys, are any of you here using one of these devices with your esc? My ETTI 125 has BEC built in. But, i want to use a seperate rx pack, and an external low voltage cutoff device so i don't have to do internal programming with the esc. OSE doesn't have any. So, I found these, but not sure if its any good.

I have not tried any of them, but i recently got this: http://www.schulze-elektronik-gmbh.com/LiPoDiM-e.htm

I like it more over whole pack monitoring, because it monitors each cell's voltage. If one cell get too low, it throttles down regardless of other cells voltage. I got it here, but did not try it in my boat yet.

I use these when necessary and they perform as advertised http://www.dimensionengineering.com/LipoShield.htm

I see esprit is selling them..pick your poison....I have ordered from both shops with good results.

How many Lipo cells are you running with this device?

                  Hi Tony.
The Lipo Shield will handle up to 12s. I've only used mine on 3s & 4s.
As AntronX stated they measure the average of the whole pack. The cutoff value is set at 3.0V /cell.
They also make one that measures each cell & the cutoff value can be adjusted up to 3.5V/cell. For the extra few bucks it's the one I'd go for if I were buying another one. One problem. You may need an adaptor lead depending on your balance plugs on your cells.
They also have an optional thermal probe that can be attatched to your cells for thermal shutdown too.

                    Hi Paul

That other device looks pretty interesting. However, it may not be easy to hook up the lipos since i'm running series.

Tony, I have emailed the company earlier today on that specific question. I will let you know the answer.

The lipo sheilds work great. KintecRacing has some that were reprogramed to 3.3v.

                            No.
With the cutoffs you have 2 wires one red and one brown. On the esc side of your connectors, Solder the red wire to the red Deans or bullet connector, solder the brown to the black Deans or bullet. Then plug the esc into the lipo sheild. Then plug the lipo sheild into the reciever.
