I have to tell you that it will probably be a month or so before these start to pop up used. They are just to new.

oh rite on, i wasnt sure how new they were, i was at a hobby store yesterday and they were tryin to sell me one. I was checking them out on your site, are they only compatible with curtain spektrum transmitters?

The MR3000 Rxs are only compatible with the DX3S Transmitters that have the Marine logo on them... You can also have an older DX3S TX sent in to Spektrum and updated to work for $50.00 or so....

These Rxs will also work with the Spektrum Stick transmitters, like the DX5 and DX7 transmitters...

I think the DX3R's can also be upgraded

Not unless something has changed since last week... They told me it's in future plans, but not at this time...

The DX3R is a more expensive radio anyhow...

It would be nice to see the dx3r available for update. I have one that's useless to me until this happens.

I hate to sound like a horses butt, but how do they decide to make the cheap one compatible and the expensive one not? Andy K we need you!

Take it from someone who has a spektrum, GO WITH FUTABA!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased a brand new spektrum DX3S, I was told that the marine receivers would be coming out very soon. I called spektrum to get info on when they would be on the market, the person I talked to said, there was no such receiver in product and developement. And it was just a rumor. 3 days later they were advertising them on the horizon website. So, I end up purchasing one only to find out that my radio part # is a spm3130 and the marine receiver only works with the spm3140. Now I had just purchased this radio for $249.00 and its gonna cost me $50.00 plus shipping to upgrade it, BUT the new spm3140 is only $249.00 already set up. Take some real good advise, GET A FUTABA !! The guy at spektrum that did the update on my radio even told me that spektrum was way behind futaba technology..

Sorry for your troubles... but seriously... Nothing you just posted here has ANYTHING to do with how well the new system works... Says that you had unfortunate timing, and got ahold of a customer service person who wasn't fully informed or was unable to divulge the specific information. Did you actually talk to a SPEKTRUM person???

The new DX3S Marine system works very well, and the marine stuff is actually MADE to operate in a marine environment... I've witnessed more than a fair share of Futabas failing because the RXs failed in the boats... I haven't had a single glitch since switching to this system... not even in the big Gas mono I ran earlier this summer...

And I honestly have a hard time swallowing that a Spektrum tech would actually say those words... They are different technologies... but "way behind"... come on....

                          Steve,

I use SR3100's with my DX3R and get beyond-clear-visibility range on them.

As for your other question, it's just a matter of when technology is available vs. when production runs start and when marketing materials can be produced.

Darin, with all due respect, I,m sorry about your hard time swallowing . I am not a liar nor do I just make stuff up. I simply typed what I was told by the tech. And also Yes, I did talk to a spektrum person about the rx, He stated if anyone would know about it, it would be him. Next, the very first time I used my Spektrum rechargable AA's for the tx, after charging them all night,( as the Spektrum tech suggested Because, there were no directions in the box with the charger nor with the batts ) the batts were dying half way through a five lap race. So, Yes I have had a considerable amount of trouble with this set up. Darin I know you have been doing this alot longer than I have and I respect your input and advice. I took your advice on the bullet drive and purchased exactly what you said I needed. I have not put it together yet but , will be starting the project soon. SO, please don't take this as a sarcastic reply, but as a honest reply!

P.S. sorry it took me so long to reply, as I was out of town working.
