Brushless55, I thought the same thing after asking the question above. That is not the updated ESC. The updated ESC has female connectors for the motor leads, like the Mamba Monster ESC has.

Brushless, motor is also not labeled....all of us know that traxxas was out of stock from motors and esc's. The 1st batch was unlabeled and when i got mine i noticed that they were shipping castle labeled stuff too. I called traxxas and they said that they had nomore older stuff and the 1st batch was castle stuff that wasnt labeled then castle wanted it named so thats why some was unlabeled in the beginning and he assured me that it wasnt the older stuff but who knows for sure. It is definately the 4 pole castle motor and i sold another setup like this a few months back and its still in use today with no issues. Still for sale
