New Unused Upgraded Zenoah G230 Gas Engine and Pipe

    Sold

Im selling a new unused Zenoah G230PUM gas engine. It come with an Aeromarine Rubber Isolated Mount, an upgraded J&G Big Bore cylinder kit, original top end, J&G pipe. I'm also including any paperwork that came with it.

This is another item that came in a lot I purchased recently (please note I am not a business, the guy I bought this from was really into the hobby and compiled a lot of stuff). The guy before me swapped out the original top end for an upgraded J&G 25.6 cc big bore muscle machine cylinder kit (got this info from the price labels I found on the J&G instructions, see pics). I can't speak to the install so you might want to take it apart to ensure it was done correctly. The top end kit comes with an upgraded carb, combustion chamber and intake funnel. I am not sure if this engine is complete so examine all the pictures thoroughly since that is all that is included.

This is sold as is and will be shipped with insurance. I wasnt sure what to ask for this so I looked at the bonzai sports site and came up with a price of $225 shipped (continental US). This is due to all of the extras (pipe, extra stock unused combustion chamber and carb). Please post all interest on thread, item is not sold until I receive payment. Local sale is welcome. If you need additional feedback on me I'm jersey crewmax on rctech.net.

I will also consider local trades for an electric boat such as a miss geico, mystic, impulse, revolt, king of shaves or motley Crew. Please note that I will need to look over the boat being offered before a trade is considers accepted.

I will consider selling the stock combustion chamber, carb, and intake funnel separately.

Again this is sold as is.

    Here are some pictures:

Might want to advertise on Jims RC Boat Dock. They deal in gassers. Good luck!

This is a old 230 and they don't make these anymore. The j&G kits are now billet kits with a sleeved cyl kinda like a Quickdraw but NOT a QD. The new JG kits are nice and run decent this looks like what JG did before they offers the billet top cyl kit they mod the stock 260 Cyl. I'm a gasser and 95% of us run the 26 or 29.5 . Gizmo has new 29.5 with the new 1048 carb for $260 shipped and that's a great deal . I did see you said this engine was new and that's why I deleted my 1st post . Also gizmo sales a new 260 with the new style JG billet hemi cyl kit with mod 1048 race carb .If this was a 4 bolt 260 or 28.5 it would be a great price . This is a older 230 that's a 2 bolt bottom and all the 260 and 28.5/28.5/30.5 are all 4 bolt . With that said its hard to find parts for the 230 because it's no longer in production but from time to time you can run across a few . This is a pic of the new 260s with J&Gs top end kit installed
hope this helps as its always good to add any info when it comes to buying a engine. I would recommend that you try and bench run the engine so you'll be able to offer a known good running engine . Good luck and hope this helped

I appreciate the information especially considering that I didn't really have anything to base my price on. That being said I have updated my price a bit.

I'm reluctant to open up the engine being that I have no experience gas engines. I can give it a shot but would hate to possibly cause any damage to the internals. How would I test the source and coils?

If there is any local interest, they are more than welcome to perform any tests they want.

Regarding it being run hot or dunked, I believe the engine has never seen use. Could I be mistaken?

Again, I appreciate all the information you have provided.

Here are the picture of the inside

I also tested for spark and there was spark. Regarding a bench test, I'm not to comfortable with messing around with these guys so its going to have to be sold like this.

Yep it looks new. I forgot how these engines looked inside . The cyl is nothing like our 260 and 29.5 today lol. The cyl looks like it has mild port work and the cases in stock . The engine today have 1 ring and piston is lighten . You did a good job pulling it apart be sure to reuse the base gasket as that plays a huge roll in squish aka compression . I have not seen a 26 cyl like that in a long time as I said there all 4 port engine these days and the have huge power up to 7.5 hp and with a stock 26 and tunned pipe 4.5 , 29.5 with tunned pipe 5.3!!! That's a lot of hp for these little and very tuff engines . The 230s where good engines in there day as well . Good luck and it looks nice .

Jersey, I am very interested in your engine/parts/pipe combo. The engine does appear to be new and unused. One quick question, have you reassembled it? If not, that's ok, I would prefer that. If you have reassembled it you could have possibly damaged the piston rings or cylinder bore. If so, I would be hesitant to purchase because of your "as is" statement in the description. Spare parts are difficult to find for the 23cc engines. Please advise, thanks.

I did reassemble it but I was careful to lightly oil, line up the piston ring with the notch on the piston and compress the piston rings. That being said I can take it apart again and take some additional pictures if your interested. Thanks
