Anyone ever use the plans from astecmodels.com?

I am planning on printing up some plans and doin my first scratch built boat. I found free plans at astecmodels.com. I was wondering if anyone ever used them before? Do they produce a stable boat for FE applications? I will be using the " classic roundnose" plans in 1/10 scale....
    Any input is greatly appreciated
    Thanks ahead of time

There have been hundreds of boats built from those Gary Finlay plans. Gary's designs are fast and stable. Follow the directions, take your time and you will have a fabulous boat.

        Daniel.
        Great sets of plans.
They will comply with 1/10 scale racing if you are thinking of getting into that.
"Classic Hydros" sell scale dummy motor kits & drivers for a good touch of realism. I've used them both.
I know you said you want to scratch build, but they also sell a basic framing kit & extended framing kit too, if it appeals to you.

Here's the link to the site, showing the Motors, Drivers, & kits.

Also, keep an eye on this thread. Phil Thomas KNOWS his hydros. You will learn a lot. The build will be similar but not exactly the same.

        Good luck on your build.
        Cheers.

I used the atlus vanlines and modified it a bit for my very first scratch build as well. Im still tuning her to ride flat but all and all the plans were great and everything went together well. It was my first build and I learned alot. I did some pretty hairy crashes and she didnt break apart yet.
