Ive also heard the same but have not used them yet myself, I will be trying some of the 3s 2250mah 65c in my micro mono soon. Ive just got some good 60c lipos up from my normal Turnigy 45c Nano Tech ones & their a deffinate increase in speed just like their was when i went from 25c to the Nano 45c. I run quite a hot setup so the higher c ratings seem to make quite a difference. The thunder power arnt cheap though but i look at it that you get what you pay for & its false economy buying cheapo lipos. Martin.Comment

I just bought some Nano 45-90 4 cells and they work great. Only 1 or 2 mph off from my Thunder power 45-90 and at half the cost for fun runs.PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash
H&M 1/8 Miss Bud 73 mph
Chris Craft 16 mphComment

I agree the TP cells perform well when I used the 65C packs in record ovals and I did push them hard. But the 2S cells I used ballooned big time when the cells got hot. It looked like a 7/11 MDB (midnight death burrito) after 2 minutes in the microwave. They did shrink back tight when cool and still seem to run strong. Another one of the cells that did not balloon was involved in a hard dunking. One of the cells tabs must of disconnected because the charger is only recognizing one cell in the pack now. Also the material they used to wrap around the ends of the cells to protect it has cracked and crumbled on all my 2s packs.
I did run a 4S pack pretty hard at trials also and had no problems with it. I talked to someone later who told me I should cycle these packs under a load a few times before running them hard. I never heard this before with lipos.
I have run my Hyperions while heat racing for two seasons now and love the. I'll push them hard in ovals this fall and see what happens.Mike Chirillo

The "best" I've heard was from a trusted source who treated two identical packs the same except for a break-in. The pack with the break-in lasted about 33% longer before it was ready to trash. The other side was that the pack which was broken-in took 4-6 cycles to reach full power output compared to the un-broken-in-in pack on its first few cycles. I break-in every pack. They stay strong. I don't buy cheap packs.

Crap! I need to read those little pieces of paper that come with the lipos.....
In my case, I had no time for test n tune so I didnt have a choice. I guess I shouldn't have thrown away the old light bar I used for the older chemistry packs.Mike Chirillo

Yup,
Very true indeed.
Every LiPo pack I have purchased in the past four years (TP, Hyperion, FlightPower) came with instructions warning not to run the packs at full amp draw the first few cycles. 'Always cycle the packs at 2-5C a few times first' or words to that effect. The result will be packs which last a bit longer - how much longer depends on who you listen to (and probably on the particular packs they tested).
